It can become hairy.

The house is haunted and dark.

The Dead have a morbid sense of humor.

The Story Behind THE CLUB at Disney World in Prey for The Dead

A small town on the coast of Florida offers tourists white-sanded beaches, blue skies, and an opportunity to vacation with the elite of society. Too bad the rich and famous include creatures of the night. How did this happen, you might ask?

While vampires inhabit every country in the world, they blend peacefully with humanity. In Oasis, Florida, the human inhabitants have no idea vampires or hybrids, which are a part vampire/ part human mix, live in their midst. 

In recent years, the world’s vamp population has been threatened by a rogue group of vampires with bloodlust running through their veins. THE DEAD have infiltrated the vamps of Oasis and wrestle for control. They want to rule the world.

Linda, her best friend, Shana, and their group of young friends learn of THE DEAD. They join forces with the vampires and hybrids of Oasis. They travel undercover to an exclusive club in Disney World with the two hybrids, Todd and Sam, to locate THE DEAD’s base of operations. 

Why did I choose THE CLUB at Disney World for the vampires’ base? Is there such a club in Disney where its members are the elite of society?

Yes. There is. It’s called CLUB 33. Walt Disney created the club in Disneyland in the New Orleans section. It sits behind a door with the number 33. A door that resembles all other doors on the quaint streets. If you are lucky enough to be invited by a member, you will walk through the doorway to an elegant entranceway. The hosts will greet you and take you to one of the parlors, where you may peruse the showcases of Walt Disney’s favorite things. Maybe Mary Poppins’ umbrella or a speaking parrot sitting above a clock. The adventure continues in the dining room, where toots of steamboats provide the aura of being in New Orleans. 

You can climb the staircase or use the old elevator.

Visit the showcases of Disney memorabilia. 

Once I read of CLUB 33, a club that is forbidden to me, I became obsessed with knowing more. The more I learned, the more I wanted to give it to my vampires. I used the images in my mind of CLUB 33 in Disneyland to create THE CLUB in Disney World. And wait until you see what they do to THE CLUB. You will never look at Disney World the same way again.

And guess what? I read CLUB 33 opened in Disney World. Too bad. I had my club first or what’s left of it.

LOVE ME?

Linda moves into Gregg’s mansion. She suggests Shana bring William with her as he recuperates from his last battle. While Gregg, an original vampire, has learned to live with humans, Shana doubts whether William can mend his evil ways. Shana watches the engaged couple with dismay as her arguments with William mount.

After werewolves kidnap Linda, Shana flees with Sheriff Sam, who believes William has been plotting with the werewolves to overthrow the upcoming vampire summit in Quebec.

While Gregg searches for Linda, Shana leaves with Sam for Florida’s swamplands. At a mansion hidden deep in the swamp, The Watchers live in luxury. The vampire leaders take them to a deserted military base, where they board planes for Quebec. At a stand-off at the base, The Watchers capture William and force him to join them.

The planes arrive at Chateau Frontenac in time for the summit. But the separate vampire factions have other plans for the meeting. 

As the boardwalk of Chateau Frontenac erupts in flames, the battle begins. Shana must choose the right side since any mistake can become a deadly one.

End House was gone. But the town still held many secrets. Who were Abe and Anna? Were they really vampires? And if they were: Were they good or bad? So many questions needed to be answered before Linda could feel safe again in Oasis, Florida.

     Linda was amused when she realized that they’d been holding hands with Abe and Anna’s family, trusting them with their lives without even knowing their names. She walked over to them, pulling Shana along behind her.

     Abe was delighted to make the introductions. “I’m pleased for everyone to finally meet. My family has lived in secret for far too long.”

     He brought over a tall, good-looking, dark-haired man with green eyes, and with him a tall, beautiful, green-eyed redhead. “This is my oldest son, Charles, and his wife, Georgina.”

     Next walked over a tall young man with curly blond hair and large soulful dark eyes; the woman beside him was petite with blonde hair and large brown eyes.

      
     “This is my third son, Brian, and his lovely wife, Melinda. They’re newlyweds and are thinking about settling in Oasis.”

     A tall, dark-haired man came over, “Hi. My name is Peter, the second oldest of our large brood, and this is my wife, Patricia. We’re also considering moving to Oasis.” His wife was a petite blonde with blue eyes surrounded by very long black eyelashes.

     Linda found the women to be very open and easygoing: Melinda had a bubbly personality; Georgina was a little bit quieter but generously graced everyone with her beautiful smile; and Patricia shyly smiled as everyone introduced themselves.
 

     David and Louise stood off to the side by themselves, not trusting the newcomers yet. Mike stood by himself with his arms crossed across his chest.

     A fourth couple joined the others. Abe introduced them as his daughter, Samantha, and his youngest son, Jonathan. He explained that Samantha lived in Italy while Jonathan resided mostly in Greece. Jonathan traveled the globe, carrying out different assignments for the elders. He laughingly added that his son loved his yacht more than anything or anyone in the world.

     
     Samantha was tall and blonde with soft features and a striking figure, while Jonathan was tall and handsome with dark hair and deep-blue eyes. Because of their outstanding beauty, Linda thought they looked ethereal or otherworldly—which was exactly what they were.
