There are scurrying sounds
as the animals prepare for the night.
But the old elephant stands in his place.
He doesn’t need to move.
He has everything he needs
right in front of him.
He keeps a watchful eye
on the other animals.
But he stands in his place.

In nature as in everything else in life, there is a leader. Whether we want the leader or not, we get one anyway.
Look at the birds. One is standing apart, watching the others. He is their leader. Maybe they need one. Sometimes we need one too.
