SAY A PRAYER FOR ME

A casualty of war.

A casualty of nature.

Sad.

Alone.

Drifting.

Broken.

Silenced forever.

Say a prayer for me.

THE VICTIM
I step out from the restaurant
From where there had been light.
Now there is darkness,
A dark alley.
Dark shadows move and sway.
I can hear my own footsteps
Clicking on the cobblestones.
But there are other footsteps,
Following close behind me.
Too close.
Lights shimmer up ahead.
I run toward them.
Then I’m down.
Face to ground.
The lights go out.

DISTURBED

Source:

The day is dying.
My heart is lying.
Do I care
if you’re here?
You can step inside.
I’ve nothing to hide.
The shades are shut.
Come to my hut.
I hide at day.
Nighttimes I play.
I search the seashore
for victims & more.
Come & step inside.
I’ve nothing to hide.

THE TEST OF TIME

djferreira224:
Sunset in Everglades National Park, Florida
The test of time.
We all succumb to it.
It takes its victims.
No one is safe.
Wither.
Dry up.
Turn to dust.
And life goes on.
Until the next victims
bite the dust.
And so it goes.
On and on.
In waves.
In cycles.
In perpetuity.
No reason to fight it.
Accept it.

THE VICTIM

calms:
nature/vintage blog

I step out from the restaurant.
From where there had been light,
laughter, and voices.
I step into a dark alleyway,
filled with dark shadows.
I hear my footsteps on the cobblestones.
But are there other footsteps
echoing behind me?
Is someone behind me?
Should I sneak into a doorway
to take a peak behind me?
Or should I keep walking?
I see lights up ahead.
I will walk to those beacons
of the night.
Will someone be there to help me?
Will I fall victim to a stalker?
Or will I become a victim of my own imagination?
What do you think?

THE DEAD GAME -- DAY 94

Oasis, Florida is beautiful during the day.
As night falls, evil descends upon the town.

Linda was eating breakfast with Todd the next morning. She asked him, “Would you like to join Shana and me when we visit Charles Wolf?”
“Why on earth would you visit him? I don’t think it’s safe for you to go there!” said Todd, his dark eyes flashing at her.
“Don’t be angry…that’s why we’re asking you to come along with us. His name came up when we’d conducted a search of End House on the internet. He sits on the Board of Directors of a holding company that owns the house.”
”I’ve never liked or trusted Wolf, but I’ll come with you. Never go anywhere like that without me! Promise me!”
“I promise. Can we go right after breakfast and bring Shana with us?”
“Of course, I’ll do whatever you want; just as long that I know that you’re safe. Sam won’t be able to join us today, but I’ll inform him later of our visit.”
When he looked at her with those big brown eyes, all she wanted was to be in his arms, safe and sound. But for some unknown reason, he was determined to keep her at arm’s length. They never discussed anything personal—that is, outside of End House or Oasis. But he seemed to care about her…and worry about her. When she got up from the table, she felt his eyes on her…following her…silently watching her.
