PLAY ME A SONG

“Self Portrait with a Harp” (1791) (detail) by Rose-Adélaïde Ducreux (1761-1802).

Play me a song.
Don’t get me wrong.
I love your singing voice.
But the harp is my choice.
The music soothes my sad soul.
From the day taking its toll.
I need the music today.
Please sit down with me and play.

A DAY AT THE BEACH

Source:

A sea breeze to soothe my aching soul.
Palm trees to fan my hot body.
Cold water to caress my toes.
White sand flows through my fingers.
A day in Oasis, Florida.
A day at the beach.

WAIT FOR THE NIGHT

Featured Image -- 11282

Wait for the night.
To darken the sky.
In deep shades of red.
To purples fading to black.
Silence follows on gossamer wings.
To quiet uneasy heartbeats.
To soothe roaming beasts.
Wait for the night.
To bring a dark veil on activities.
To unfurl the roaring waves.
Silence is here.
And so is the night.

SPARKLE FOR ME

Sparkle for me ocean blue.
I’ve come here only for you.
Your beauty tempts me this night.
I have given up the fight.

Wrap you cold arms around me.
I long to be light and free.
Pull me deeper inside.
I have long lost my pride.

Your water feels cold and nice.
I’ve become a block of ice.
Icicles hang from my hair.
But I don’t have any fear.

Warm me.
Soothe me.
Hold me.
Feel me.

I trusted you.
I had loved you.
I am nothing.
I am no more.

THE BEAST WITHIN

zodiacke: Beast by Klaus Wittmann

The beast within.
Each one of us has
a beast lurking inside.
Waiting to be free.
Free to wreck havoc.
To seek revenge.
Yearning to be free.
We must tame the savage beast.
Refuse to let it take control
of our lives and our hearts.
We must soothe the savage beast.
Or we risk becoming one ourselves.
