Where you can look out at the world

Perfectly manicured lawn
in an oasis of green.
Sheltered from winds or storms
by a castle’s ruins.
Nothing can be as perfect.
Nothing can be as pleasing.
I just need to find my oasis.

FLY AWAY

If I could fly a plane,
I would take it high above the clouds
to soar to new heights.
I would look down at the ants below
and marvel at how small and
insignificant they now seem.
Goodbye mere mortals
with your boring jobs.
I won’t be back.
I’ll find a mountaintop
to land upon.
A mountain clear of people
and houses.
