THE CARNIVAL

The carnival calls to me.
Sounds of laughter
float to me in the distance.
I want to be there.
I want to be a child again
for one afternoon.
Go back in time when
life was enjoyed to its fullest.
I will dip my toes in the sand
and run to the carnival.
I will buy cotton candy and
eat it with sticky fingers.
I will ride the ferris wheel
until I am dizzy from the height.
Children are running to the rides.
I am one of them.
For this afternoon,
I am one of them.

A CHILD FOR THE AFTERNOON

The carnival is calling to me.
I could hear the sound of
laughter in the distance.
I want to go.
I want to be a child again
for one afternoon.
Go back in time when
life was enjoyed to its fullest.
I will dip my toes in the sand
and run to the carnival.
I will buy cotton candy and
eat it with sticky fingers.
I will ride the Ferris Wheel
until I am dizzy from the heights.
I can hear the bumper cars
bashing against each other.
I see children running to the rides.
I am one of them.
For this afternoon,
I will be one of them.

SOAR HIGH ABOVE

celestiol:

Rio de Janeiro | by Slobodan Zecevic

Take a ride in the evening sky.
Above the buildings and cars, where
all begins to look smaller and smaller.
Soar high above the people and noise,
and listen to the quiet.
And take time to take a deep breath and think.

A HORROR STORY

blackwallflower:
avelandthesea:
Abandoned Amusement Park in New Orleans
A great setting for a murder mystery.
A dead body found…
Let’s think of a good spot.
A body found in the jaws
of the alligator statue.
The police look for clues.
The officer steps into the fun house.
Little does he know,
but the fun house doesn’t have a floor.
He steps in and falls into a deep ditch.
One down.
The next officer checks the top
of the long slide.
He feels himself being pushed
down the colorful slide and
his head hits the bottom with a bang.
Another down.
The last officer tries to start the Ferris Wheel
and guess what?
He’s electrocuted for his efforts.
The murderer chuckles and shuffles
off his merry way.
He didn’t even need the clown costume.
