RISING FROM THE DEEP

Source:

The night caters to our whims.
It follows our deadly sins.
Our darkest nightmares come alive.
We’ll do anything to survive.
Monsters stalk us in our sleep.
Creatures rising from the deep.
It creaks open the bedroom door.
I see it move across the floor.
My head turns to accept my doom.
I am one of them all too soon.

RED GLOW IN THE NIGHT

Alexander Calder, Sumac V. 1953.

A red glow in the night.
Leading me astray.
Away from my plans.
Toward my doom.
Blood marks the way.
Toward a town on the shore.
Where the undead roam free.
Leaving a trail of bloodshed.
Dead bodies on the beach.
Mayhem their mainstay.
I must not follow this path.
To death and destruction.
For once one is bitten.
It is too late to go back.

OOZING

OOZING

I sit in the dark.
I hear a soft drip.
Drip, drip, drip…
Coming faster.
Sounding louder.
I look up.
A red stain spreads across the ceiling.
Red liquid oozing down the walls.
What’s happening in the room above?
Is all this blood?
The ooze is moving closer.
Creeping towards me.
Raising its arms.
To grab me.
I close my eyes.
I’m inside it.
I see a beating heart.
Thump, thump, thump…
It explodes into thousands of pieces.
The explosion forces me down a tunnel.
I’m falling through a blood red abyss.
Leading where?
To my own doom?
I shouldn’t have come to this house.
The Dead take no prisoners.
