THE EVIL IN ME

Hee Hee!
Come and see
what I have for thee.
A boiling cauldron.
A spell or two.
Banished vampires.
Beneath the earth.
That was me.
Living in tunnels.
Roaming the dungeons.
For eternity.
My proud achievement.
The tourists frolic in the sand.
Even the residents have no clue
as to the evil lying beneath it all.

THE WOODS

The woods hold dark secrets.
Buried beneath the black grass.
Blood red leaves blanket the floor.
A green mist covers all.
Shades of green color the scene.
Gnarled tree limbs reach out to visitors.
Creaking and groaning as they bend in the wind.
Is that a figure in the distance?
Its eyes glow yellow in the green mist.
Is it friend or foe?
Wretched fingers encircle my neck.
The trees have taken us hostage.
The figure draws near.
It gives a cackle.
Not a good sign.
A pot is set up in the clearing.
Figures are mixing the concoction inside.
I don’t want dinner.
And I definitely don’t want to be dinner.

WHAT'S FOR DINNER?

shiningdaisy:
The Sounds of Halloween (1977)

A spirit is rising from the smoke.
Go over and give it a poke.
And see if it’s alive or dead.
Even the cats can feel the dread.
Let’s dance around the fire.
You don’t want the witches’ ire.
Or you might become their dinner.
And then who would be the winner?
