HAIKU OF GOODBYE
The galaxy shines.
In awe of the human race.
It makes my heart race.
I cannot see far.
But I know what is right here.
It’s not far from here.
Heaven covers us.
Protects above and below.
To it, I must go.
Goodbye to my friends.
Time has come to abrupt end.
I shine for each friend.
The cynic in me is tempted to say that if the galaxy is in awe of the human race, it's betting on the wrong race (or at least that part of the human race that is not more in awe of the galaxy than of itself).
