THE COVER OF NIGHT

THE COVER OF NIGHT
Night is settling in.
Shadows cover the small town.
A town preparing for the evening.
The sun hides its face.
The moon turns in glee.
Time for it to shine.
Time for it to be king.
Time for the stars to twinkle.
For the stars to serve him.
The town turns darker.
The winds become colder.
The soft snow begins to freeze.
Ice hangs from the trees.
Frost covers the windows.
All are inside.
All are safe and warm.
From the moon’s games.
Or so they think.
The moon’s fun
has just begun.
Who will be at its mercy?
Who will be left out in the cold?
Don’t let it be you.

MIDNIGHT AT THE OASIS

e-e-r-i-n-e-s-s:
Nosferatu (1922)

When the clock chimes 12:00
midnight in the glass house,
time will stand still.
The music will stop.
Dancers will freeze in place.
All will be quiet,
waiting for the last chime.
After the twelfth bong,
time will be released from its trance.
The dancing and music will resume.
No time is lost.
Nothing is gained.
The Dead have assumed control.
THE DEAD GAME has begun.
