A NEW BEGINNING

A NEW BEGINNING
The rain hits the puddles
in a staccato rhythm.
mesmerizing sound.
Tree branches hang low,
weighed heavy with water.
Flowers lift shiny faces
for their morning washing.
The cold, crisp rain
refreshes and renews.
The clouds drip dry.
The sun returns
to brighten the day.
The air smells clean.
A new day dawns.
A new beginning.

UNTIL THE NIGHT

UNTIL THE NIGHT

The bushes dance
to their own beat.
They comfort me
as they dip and sway.
When the sun wakes,
their branches part.
And I walk free.
Until the night.

A NEW BEGINNING

A NEW BEGINNING
The rain hits the puddles
in staccato rhythm.
A constant
and mesmerizing sound.
Tree branches hang low,
weighed down with water.
Flowers lift their shiny faces
for their morning washing.
The cold, crisp rain
refreshes and renews.
The clouds dry out.
The sun returns
to brighten the day.
The air smells clean.
A new day dawns.
A new beginning.

BEFORE DAWN OF A NEW DAY

The waves are washing in.
But I can still see him.
He’s followed me here.
Must not let him get near.
He has returned from the dead.
I won’t let him in my bed.
He wants me for his queen.
With him I can’t be seen.
The tides are surely rising.
My mind is agonizing.
How will I manage to get away
Before the dawn of the new day?
THE DEAD GAME

A NEW BEGINNING

The rain hits the puddles in staccato rhythm.
A constant and mesmerizing sound.
Tree branches hang low--weighed down with water.
Flowers lift their shiny faces for their washing.
The cold, crisp rain refreshes.
The clouds dry out.
The sun returns to brighten the day.
The air smells fresh and clean.
A new day dawns.
A new beginning.
